How to connect your Vivideo account to Canva, Adobe Express, Zapier and the assistant integrations, and what to do when something goes wrong.
The Vivideo app adds a completed video from your Vivideo account to the Canva design you are editing. It does not create new videos inside Canva.
The Vivideo add-on adds a completed video from your Vivideo account to the Adobe Express document you are editing. It does not create new videos inside Adobe Express.
The Canva app and the Adobe Express add-on show up to 20 of your most recent completed videos, newest first. Videos that are still rendering, queued or failed are not listed. Only videos in the Vivideo account you signed in with are shown.
The Vivideo integration for Zapier generates videos from text and reports when one is ready, so Vivideo can sit inside an automated workflow.
Zapier asks for a Vivideo API key rather than a sign-in window. Create one in the Vivideo app under Settings → More → API Keys, then paste it into Zapier. The key is shown once, so copy it before closing the dialog. A key is tied to your account and can be revoked from the same page at any time.
Generating a video takes minutes, which is longer than a single Zap step is
allowed to run. Generate Video therefore finishes straight away
with a status of processing and no video link yet. Collect the
finished file in one of two ways:
The Vivideo app for Make generates videos from text and reports when one is ready, so Vivideo can run inside a Make scenario.
Make asks for a Vivideo API key rather than a sign-in window. Create one in the Vivideo app under Settings → More → API Keys, then paste it into Make. The key is shown once, so copy it before closing the dialog, and revoke it from the same page whenever you want to cut off access.
Generating a video takes minutes. Create a video therefore
finishes straight away with a status of processing and no video link
yet. Watch new videos fires at the moment a video is created,
for the same reason, so neither one hands you a finished file on its own.
To act on the finished video, follow either module with a
Repeater, a Sleep step and
Get a video, filtered on Is finished.
The trigger deliberately does not wait for completed. A video
carries one timestamp, the moment it was created, and it never changes. Renders
finish in a different order from the one they started in, so a trigger that
waited for completed would silently skip any video that finished
after a newer one. Firing on creation is the only thing that can be tracked
reliably.
Allow pop-ups for the editor, then try again. In Adobe Express a blocked
pop-up reports POPUP_BLOCKED.
Go back to the add-on panel. Sign in to Vivideo becomes available again within a couple of seconds — choose it to open a fresh sign-in window. You can do this as many times as you need.
You have no completed videos in this account yet, or you signed in with a different Vivideo account. Sign out, sign in again, and confirm the videos are visible in the Vivideo app itself.
Access expired or was revoked. Sign in again. If it repeats, sign out fully, reload the editor, and reconnect.
Refresh the list — a video's media link may have changed since the panel loaded. If it continues, note the video's name and contact support.
Large videos take time to transfer. Wait for the progress state to finish rather than clicking again; a second click is ignored while one import is in progress.
That is expected. Rendering has only just started, so the step reports
processing. Use the New Video Ready trigger, or a
Delay step followed by Find Video, to pick up
the finished file.
If the status is preview instead, the account is on the free
plan and nothing was rendered. The step's output includes the upgrade link.
The API key is wrong, was revoked, or belongs to a deleted account. Create a
fresh key under Settings → More → API Keys and
reconnect. Keys begin with vv_live_.
That is expected. Rendering has only just started, so the module reports
processing. Follow it with a Sleep step and
Get a video to pick up the finished file.
If the status is preview instead, the account is on the free
plan and nothing was rendered. The module's output includes the upgrade link.
A video filed into a folder in the Vivideo app is only returned when that folder is chosen in the module's Folder field. Leave the field blank for videos that are not in a folder.
In the Canva app and the Adobe Express add-on, signing in authorises the integration to read your Vivideo video library only. Neither can create, change or delete videos, and neither ever asks for a Vivideo API key. Signing out removes the integration's stored session.
The Zapier and Make integrations work differently: each uses an API key you create and paste in yourself, and each can create videos as well as read them, because that is what their actions do. Revoking the key in Vivideo cuts off that integration's access immediately. See the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Vivideo also connects to ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor for creating and checking videos by chat. Those are separate from the Canva and Adobe Express apps described above, which only import videos you have already created.
